The final post from Plan B Cafe. On from 9-2 we will have Mothers Day packs for sale in four VERY special flavours. We've decided this year to go with flavours you'd hide from the kids! See you there!!!

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT!!!

It's with a heavy heart and a great deal of sadness that we announce tomorrow will be the final trading day at Plan B Cafe.

Our cakes and cupcakes (LoveLeighs Cakery) will continue on in another setting and while we nut out the details we have secured a temporary kitchen for use so that nobody misses out. We will also be attending the markets at the Showgrounds next week so you can come down for your cupcake fix.

Tomorrow we will have a limited menu but the coffee will be hot and the cupcakes made fresh for anyone wanting to come down and say goodbye.

ALL furniture is for sale. You like that comfy chair you've been sitting on, take it home with you! Tomorrow only.

We are proud of what we have built and have made so many good friends and had more fun than we ever imagined possible over the past three years. I hope other communities will take note of what we achieved and work hard to reach out and connect in a meaningful way. It's been a blast.

I'd like to thank my family for being so bloody amazing. Especially my husband, children, parents and Grandad. They have never lost faith in me or in my idea to try something different and have been unwavering in their support.

I'd also like to thank all of the fabulous staff we've had along the way. Zoe, Karly, Emma, Aimee, Julie, Taylor, Jess, Jordann, Blake and my sounding board, kitchen companion and biggest champion, Tara.

Finally, to all of you. The best customers and friends a business could wish for....thanks for the memories.

Thursday: bird making class. Presented by Cairns Regional Gallery. $15 includes a cold drink. 10am start. Ages 3+.

Saturday: adults and teens cake decorating class. Learn how to smooth buttercream and pipe borders in various designs. $40 includes a drink and a 6" cake. 2:30 pm start. Ages 12+.

Plenty of fun had by those who attended our first ever Buttercream Basic class for teens and adults. Students were shown various techniques for using colour to create movement and a fun look and were taught how to hold the piping bags, use pressure for consistency and confidently use a range of basic piping nozzles. There is another class coming up next Saturday afternoon from 2:30 for anyone interested. This time focussing on cake decoration including piping borders. Limited places are available. Cost is $40 which includes a six inch cake, board and a drink.

Basic buttercream class is on tomorrow night from 6-7:30. Teens welcome so if you are looking for a fun activity to do with your nearly grown up child, book in and join us for some fun and frivolity with buttercream! Oh, and some cupcakes to put it on. ;-) Class is $30 which includes cupcakes and a drink. Just quietly, I'm a bit excited about this one....
