Brazilian director, playwright and social theorist Augusto Boal developed Forum Theatre in the late 1960s and early 1970s as a way of using theatre to hold a dialogue with audiences about important social issues. He called it ‘rehearsal for revolution’.

Join us for Beyond the Algorithm, where Forum Theatre is used to examine the impact of online misogyny and what we can do to stop it.

**LIVE** Sunday 9 August, 4pm

Indulge in a superb program of percussion brilliance with Claire Edwardes. The Sorceress of Percussion explores the depth of percussion in this thrilling new album release. Each piece illuminates the expressive potential, and distinctive qualities of the marimba and vibraphone. Dual Attractor is about two centres of gravity pulling in different directions.

Shimmering textures in Missy Mazzoli’s Orizzonte, rich contemplation in Caroline Shaw's reimagining of the Thomas Tallis motet in manus tuas, surges of energy in Kate Moore's Joyful Melodies and darkly playful twists in Gemma Peacocke's I Promise Not to Poison You xoxo.

Last Friday Tom Fell launched his debut album, Mantra, right here at The Street. We were awed by his blues-inflected jazz with Nicholas McBride on the drums, Christopher Pound playing the bass, and Steve Barry on piano.

Can we use social media to stop hate?
How might we redesign digital spaces to minimise misogyny and associated social harms?

A new theatre project that explores how online misogyny shapes lives – and how we can change the story.

Investigating what motivates people to engage in online misogyny and how we can disrupt its spread of hate and bigotry while supporting victim/survivors. An interactive theatre style that invites audience members to intervene in a set script to change the story.

Developed in collaboration with actors from Canberra Youth Theatre - For students, community members, educators and researchers.

A big jazz celebration with Ten Part Invention, their new album Time is Moved marking 40 years of Ten Part Invention. With amazing sax lines, piano, deep bass tones and more horns! A high calibre line-up of Australia’s finest jazz players lead by Miroslav Bukovsky and Sandy Evans, we were deeply enthralled by this expert playing. With big applause long after both sets!
