Ryan, our Head Roaster, talks us through La Serranía Decaf and why the decaf process can make coffee look a little different.

Grown in Pitalito, Huila, Colombia, La Serranía is a Natural EA Decaf, processed using ethyl acetate derived from sugar cane and mountain water to remove 99.7% of the caffeine.

The result is a decaf that still holds onto plenty of its original character, with a little extra fruit and complexity in the cup.

Tasty and sweet with notes of butterscotch, apple strudel and honeycomb.

New Release: La Montañita, Colombia 🇨🇴

Straight out of Pitalito, Huila, this lot comes from Willyan and his wife Maria Esther Lopez, who produce exquisite coffees on their farm, La Montañita.

Most of what they grow is Pink Bourbon, a variety native to Colombia, and especially Huila. This release marks the sixth time we have featured this lot across our five-year partnership.

Starting in 2022, our goal was to build a long-term, mutually beneficial partnership with a producer who shares our passion for outstanding coffee.

Continually, this is one of our most delicious releases. A heady mix of fruit, texture and acid, La Montañita represents the other side of the spectrum in an ever-changing landscape of extended and experimental fermentation.

Grown with the utmost care and attention, then processed with minimal intervention, this coffee allows its inherent flavours to shine through.

Available now in our venues and online.

New Release: Ichuga, Kenya 🇰🇪

Ichuga encapsulates everything we love about coffee from Nyeri.

One of Kenya’s most famous growing regions, Nyeri takes its name from the Maasai word nyiro, meaning red, after the red volcanic soil found throughout the area. Rich in organic matter and nutrients, this soil helps make Nyeri an exceptional region for growing coffee.

Ichuga is one of five factories owned and operated by Kiama Farmer Cooperative Society, producing coffees that are fruit driven, vibrant and intense like nothing else you’ll find throughout the year.

This particular selection is AA, which indicates the largest bean size available and is often associated with high cup quality. Because of its size, the application of heat required is slightly different when roasting, keeping our roasting team on their toes.

We’re roasting Ichuga for filter this year, to highlight the vibrant acidity and unique character traits associated with the region.

Expect a bright, expressive and intensely fruit-driven cup.
