A lovely old sandstone country "pub" circa 1869

The Royal Hotel has been a focal point of community life in Cassilis for almost 150 years. In days gone by, the hotel provided welcome hospitality for the stagecoach traveler and for the pioneering landholders from the surrounding grazing area - famous for its highest quality wool, beef, and grain. The Royal Hotel has been restored to former glory and includes 21st C facilities to service the needs of modern travelers along the Golden Highway

Shaping up to be a cold one this weekend. Fires and heaters are on. Come in and cosy up in one of our warm rooms. On the specials board:

⚫️ House grown and marinated olives 🫒 with toasted sourdough
⚫️ Pan fried chicken livers, crispy bacon, mushrooms 🍄‍🟫 , balsamic glaze, served with toasted sourdough
⚫️ Moules marinieres - Mussels steamed in white wine and garlic, served with toasted sourdough
⚫️ Winter vegetable pasta - spinach, cherry tomatoes, 🍅 pumpkin & Swiss chard in a tomato sauce
⚫️ Broccoli 🥦 & blue cheese soup, served with a handful of sourdough croutons

Did we mention that we have a resident baker too?👩‍🍳 Yes, all our bread and burger buns are baked onsite 😉

Thanks to Sean for looking after the kitchen while chef Cameron had a well earned break.

Now he’s back, with the famous and often requested popcorn chicken, spaghetti marinara and a perfect for winter slow cooked beef short rib - they’ll run out before the weekend ends, so don’t miss out. Oh, chocolate mousse is on too!
