JUST ANNOUNCED: DIRTY FENCES (NYC)

New York City’s Dirty Fences are a rock & roll band known for their explosive live shows, razor-sharp songwriting, and no-frills approach to punk-infused power pop. Blending the swagger of classic ‘70s rock with the urgency of garage punk, the band has earned a reputation as one of the underground’s most electrifying acts. With acclaimed releases, relentless touring, and a loyal international following, Dirty Fences continues to deliver hook-filled, high-energy rock that feels both timeless and unmistakably their own.

Dirty Fences make their long-awaited return to Australia this November, bringing their sharp, hook-driven take on rock ’n’ roll to stages across the East coast.

Drawing from the same lineage that ran through CBGB in the late ’70s, Dirty Fences deal in short songs, catchy riffs, and melodies that stick. Over the past decade the band have built a reputation through relentless touring across the United States and Europe, earning a loyal following with their no-frills approach to punk infused power pop and consistently strong catalogue of releases.

This is the band’s first Australian headline tour and a rare opportunity to catch one of New York’s finest contemporary rock ’n’ roll groups in intimate rooms.

FRIDAY: JEANE - 'SICKO' EP Launch

Fresh off the release of their debut EP Sicko, Naarm’s Jeane return to The Tote this July for a special headline show celebrating one of the year’s standout local releases. Led by front woman, Jazz Johnston, the band have quickly built a reputation for emotionally charged indie-rock that pairs sharp lyricism with an explosive live energy.

TONIGHT: A TWO-FOR-ONE SPECTACULAR!! BAGFUL OF BEEZ + HEIR TO THE SQUANDERED MILLIONS - DOUBLE SINGLE LAUNCH

The McLennan brothers (Ross and Link) and their bands are celebrating their second singles from upcoming albums on Cheersquad Records & Tapes* with a one-two punch of a dual launch show. As if that wasn’t exciting enough, special guest Captain Beep-boop is making this a not-to-be-missed event!

Bagful Of Beez, Link Meanie’s DIY pop project, is a brilliant and eclectic mix of classic pop styles, a sort of everything-including-the-kitchen-sink approach of studio-enamoured pop savants - if that is a genre. Link is joined by pals, Matt, Meghan and Chip.

“Bagful of Beez is now a full band, so no more glitching backing tracks and more band members which is handy for gang fights.” - Link

Heir To The Squandered Millions is the new vehicle for Ross McLennan (formerly of 90s power pop trio Snout). The band features Ewan McCartney (also of Snout) on drums, Jane McCracken (The Foots, Cheeses) on bass/vocals, and Ben Mason (Smallgoods) on guitar/vocals.

You should expect smarty pants guitar hooks, rock and soul rhythms with a forward lean, and lots of harmonies.

Captain Beep-boop plays q***r electronic punk music on a DIY modified Telstra “Bluephone” payphone synthesiser.

SATURDAY ARVO: LEAH SENIOR - 'PT. ROADKNIGHT' Album Launch

Australian folk diviner Leah Senior launches her fifth studio album Pt. Roadknight in this very special Melbourne matinee event, joined by her band and special guests.

Pt. Roadknight explores Leah’s introspective, nature-loving side while honing the singular baroque psych folk that has captivated listeners around the world. While the style and instrumentation of ‘70s Brit folk are touchstones on Senior’s forthcoming album, her disarming lyrics are fresh and wholehearted, wrestling with modern concerns of gentrification and isolation while finding solace in the quiet beauty of the Victoria surf coast town where she lives.

A shining star of the Australian folk scene for the past decade, Leah Senior’s past four records have received critical acclaim from global media and radio stations, with Leah touring extensively, sharing stages with the likes of Wilco, Iron & Wine, Simon Joyner, Jessica Pratt, and King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard.

The new album Pt. Roadknight marks an exciting new chapter in Leah Senior’s musical journey, affirming her as one of Australia’s most authentic folk storytellers.
