Crazy how time flies.... it’s been a while...
I remember when I started out as kitchen hand, and then changed into a chefs jacket working 12 hour days as a minimum, we barely took a break back then. I loved every minute, working in hotels, cafes, restaurants, regional mining, offshore, the ADF, it all makes sense now, was it worth it? yes, I wouldn’t change anything.😊
On reflection though the real magic happened when we opened our first training cafe in Coolbellup. ❤️Our little cafe brought together food, purpose and people. That little cafe wasn’t just a space to learn , it was a family. A beautiful vibrant community who showed up for us and each other every day.
And right in the centre of it was my very first jobseeker Billy Jo who’s strength, spirit and unwavering dedication to me and those who needed assistance to get their foot in the door to employment has always been my greatest inspiration.
Today I continue to carry that energy forward through
DQEmploymentconnect & skilled hospitality labour hire where we continue to build real training-to-employmentpathways for those who need help to step into hospitality and regional mining roles.
Whether its developing courses, collaborating with RTO’S, industry employers or participating in community programs, the mission stays the same ; Empower people, build careers and connect great humans to great work opportunities.
To my Coolbellup family, thank-you for the support you always showed our team to achieve those initial training and employment outcomes back then, It feels so great to have you all sit on the sidelines as we embark on this new chapter together❤️
