**WORKSHOP 2: BIG BLOOMS — ACRYLIC PAINTING WITH ROBIN HICKS**

Spend a full day surrounded by colour, creativity and beautiful blooms.

Join us at Atelier Crafers for **One Day Workshop: Big Blooms Acrylic Painting** with **Robin Hicks**.

**Sunday 2 August | 10am–4pm**

In this expressive full-day workshop, Robin will guide you through creating a bold and beautiful floral painting in acrylics.

You’ll explore:
• Composition
• Light and shade
• Colour mixing
• Building up layers
• Textural effects
• Creating movement, depth and interest in your painting

Images will be provided, or you’re welcome to bring your own floral reference if you have something special in mind.

This workshop is perfect if you love flowers, colour and expressive painting, and would like to spend a day learning in a friendly and encouraging studio setting.

A full day of watercolour, landscape, light and creativity in the Adelaide Hills.

Join us at Atelier Crafers for **One Day Watercolour Workshop: Flinders Ranges Morning Light** with **Alan Ramachandran**.

**Saturday 1 August | 10am–4pm**

In this inspiring full-day workshop, Alan will guide you through creating a watercolour scene inspired by the beautiful Flinders Ranges, with a focus on capturing morning light.

You’ll explore:
• Initial sketching

• Watercolour techniques
• Light and shade
• Texture and atmosphere
• Bringing depth and warmth into a landscape

🎨 Artist Spotlight | Robin Hicks

At Atelier Crafers, we're fortunate to have some truly exceptional artists sharing their knowledge and passion with our community, and Robin Hicks is one of them.

Robin is an award-winning artist whose work is inspired by the beauty, atmosphere and ever-changing moods of the natural world. From dramatic coastal scenes and tranquil waterways to vibrant florals, wildlife and the Australian landscape, her paintings capture both place and feeling with remarkable sensitivity.

Working across oils, pastel, acrylic, mixed media and watercolour, Robin considers watercolour her favourite medium. Her career has included work as an illustrator for the South Australian Museum and the University of South Australia, along with numerous exhibitions, awards and commissioned works.

Robin often begins her creative process outdoors, sketching and painting directly from life before developing works further in the studio. Her travels throughout Australia and beyond continue to provide inspiration for her distinctive style.

Many may also recognise Robin from the Australian television art program Colour In Your Life, where she was featured demonstrating her painting techniques.

We are delighted to have Robin teaching our Advanced Watercolour Classes and regularly hosting Watercolour Workshops here at Atelier Crafers, sharing her wealth of knowledge with students of all skill levels.

✨ Robin believes that art can be a spiritual experience for both artist and viewer — a philosophy beautifully reflected throughout her work.

There’s something special about a Sunday afternoon in the Adelaide Hills...

Settle in with a locally roasted coffee, enjoy lunch or something sweet from our café, wander through our gallery and gift shop, then relax as beautiful live instrumental music fills the space.

Our Sunday Sessions are all about slowing down, catching up with friends, and enjoying the simple pleasure of great music in a welcoming atmosphere.
