We created our Chonkies with all the little boys and girls in mind… but it turns out the big boys and girls love them just as much 🍪 like me. I love them 😅

Our White Chocolate & Macadamia Chonkies have been a bit of a hit these school holidays, and we’re secretly quite happy when one or two are left for us at the end of the day.

Baked fresh in small batches using real butter, pastured eggs and thoughtful ingredients, these just might change your mind about cookies.

See you tomorrow… before they’re all gone🤎

People often see the coffee and the cakes.

What they don’t always see are the hundreds of tiny decisions behind them.

We care deeply about how this little wonky shed feels. The welcome, the warmth, the food, the coffee, the music, the flowers… it’s all intentional.

That’s what hospitality means to us.

We hope you feel it every time you visit 🤎

This is the Kindfolk world.

River walks. Tiny boots. Free babycinos. Fresh food made from scratch. Coffee worth slowing down for. Berridge Park just across the road.

A place where childhood isn’t hurried, conversations linger, and the simple things still matter.

Whether you’re visiting Denmark or call this beautiful town home, we hope you’ll find a little piece of home here too.

Leave with a warm heart 💜

Not everything needs to be rushed.

A table filled with fresh food, good coffee and time to catch up might just be one of life’s greatest luxuries.

We’ll save you a seat.

School holidays have arrived 🤎

Denmark always feels a little different at this time of year. Families fill the beaches and trails, little feet find every muddy puddle, and this beautiful town welcomes visitors from all over.

While every day is an adventure through George’s eyes, I love seeing people choose Denmark to slow down, reconnect and make memories together.

We’ll be busy pouring coffee, filling babycino cups, serving fresh acai bowls, rosemary toasties and homemade cake 〰️ all ready for days spent exploring our little corner of the world.

To our locals enjoying a little extra family time, and to everyone making the trip south this winter… It’s been freezing outside, but we’ll make sure you leave with a warm heart ❤️

People often ask where the name Kindfolk came from.

There are a few stories behind it, but one person has always stood out to me.

When I moved to Denmark, I was 38 weeks pregnant. It all happened pretty quickly, and after George was born, I didn’t know many people. Most days I’d quietly wander the streets, walk along the river or head to the beach with him. I was craving connection just as much as I was craving a good coffee.

Pauline was a barista at the Tea House back then.

Every time I walked in, she’d make such a fuss of George and me. She’d ask how we were, remember us, and make us feel welcome. She saw me at a time when I felt a bit lost, a bit lonely, and like I’d disappeared into motherhood.

Looking back, I don’t think it was the coffee that kept drawing me back.

It was Pauline.

She reminded me what hospitality can be. That one kind person behind a coffee machine can completely change someone’s day.

Years later, Pauline came to work at Kindfolk to help cover a few shifts. While chatting, we realised something neither of us had remembered…

I’d actually trained her years earlier at the Barista Academy.

Talk about a full-circle moment.

Kindfolk was inspired by people like Pauline.

The kind folk who remember your name.
Who make a fuss of your little ones.
Who make you feel seen.
Who remind you that you belong.

That’s the kind of café I always hoped we’d create 💚

Today is the Winter Solstice ❄️ and the longest night of the year.

Winter in Denmark isn’t always sunshine and blue skies. It’s rain on the footpath, steaming cups of coffee, muddy boots by the river and the occasional rainbow when you least expect it.

It’s slowing down.
Gathering around tables.
Finding warmth in good food and good company.

And while today may be the shortest day, it’s also the turning point. From here, the light slowly returns.

Here’s to nourishing ourselves through the seasons, and finding beauty in each one.

In this season, come cold, and leave with a warm heart ❤️
