Darren got a good start and over came some timing issues he was battling in the heat races. He must have got on top of it as he seemed to have good horsepower and made it to the bottom turn buoy first.
Nigel had spent the heat races running in a fresh motor that had only gone together last week. The crew were keeping an eye on vitals, such as oil pressure and fueling and had a solid tune for the final getting around the bottom two turn buoys in behind Darren
Hadley had a great drive all day and had the outboard tunnel boat really performing well. In clean water his hull was performing high speed turns but in 3rd at the first turning buoy he would not have much of that.
Clean water proved an asset for Darren and he manipulated his speed for most of the race capitalising on the great start he made.
Nigel drove well battling some big holes out of the turns left by the prop and horsepower of WILD CHILD.
Hadley needing to rely on engineering and technology in his outboard powered tunnel boat, could not get the clean water to have his craft rail the turns and the two powerful supercharged V8's tore up the course at every opportunity
