On Sunday 19 July 2026, we invite you to spend an afternoon immersed in the joy of music as the Brisbane German Club Liedertafel/Liederkranz Choir present their 2026 Mid-year Concert: German Songs of Love, Joy, and Longing.

Flock in for a Phenomenal Sunday, 12 July 2026!

We’re featuring a full-blown festival of football, footy, and Frühschoppen!

Start your Sunday by fuelling up with freshly poured froths while Switzerland fights Argentina for World Cup glory. We’ll be flinging the front gate open to allow for first froths at 10:30 am.

Then a fabulous feast and Frühschoppen with all the usual fun and frivolity from midday.

Following that, finish with some fabulous German snacks before the ferocious footy action that follows as the Brisbane Lions face Essendon!

Fresh food, frosty steins, fierce competition, and fantastic friendship. What a phenomenal way to farewell the weekend in fine form!

Ok, we’ll stop with the Fs now. Sorry. 😉

PS: Our Club crest is even composed of four Fs, so I guess it’s all fairly fortuitous!

Whilst we can show FIFA World Cup games during our regular trading hours (we’re only licensed to midnight unfortunately), anything outside of that we encourage you to join in on the fun at the South Bank Live Sight courtesy of our friends at Visit South Bank .

Germany’s game on Friday 26 June for example, will be showing from 06:00 am on the main screen.

We’ll have the Australia game on the big screen in the beer hall at midday on Friday. Which seems like a perfect excuse to “work from home” for the afternoon. Bar open from 11:00 am, full restaurant menu from midday through to 9:00 pm, and Schnappi time from 3:00 pm.
