To all our dear and loyal followers

I thought it best to qualify some recent activity down at B-shed due to the increased interest on our social media pages.

The cafe set up that is currently being undertaken has nothing to do with me nor my team. Whilst on face value it would appear to be very similar; it has no association with Expresslane.

When we were told some 2 years ago that it "was time to give someone else a turn" - I had just presented a redevelopment proposal that would have seen the venue undergo some significant development and aesthetic improvement. It would appear that the intention was to wind back the clock rather than move forward.

No doubt you will get the opportunity to judge for yourself at sometime in the future.

To all our dear and loyal regulars (and irregulars), random strollers, portside lovers, ferry travellers, transient souls, first time explorers and my wonderful staff
It is with heavy heart that Expresslane will be closed for the immediate future. Whilst the promise of an early sunrise resonates like the first sip of coffee in the morning, unfortunately I shall not be there to share it with you tomorrow.

I was reminded of what is important by the most delightful young person this afternoon. A traveller. An explorer.

As we shed tears of shared endeavors and for future imaginings - she sat quietly sobbing at the loss of a much loved grandmother; alone and longing for the simple touch of a loved one on the other side of the world. Lets hope these strange circumstances allow us to focus again on the value of the human soul, and the delight that a simple smile can bring.
