🌿 Food has the power to connect us - across cultures, stories, and tables.

Our Staying Grounded Program, established in 2020, creates training and employment pathways in farming and hospitality for women from asylum seeker and migrant communities in the Geelong region.

Over eight weeks, they trains in the kitchen, cook with produce grown on our farm, and prepare meals for local families in need🍲

Now, you can be part of their story. ✨
When you choose the Staying Grounded Menu for your event or join our Seasonal Community Feast Dinners, you’re not just sharing a meal, you’re supporting pathways for women, families, and communities to grow and thrive.

A long table, a good meal, and a story behind every bite 🌿 Our in-house farm lunches are a celebration of the season, colourful, abundant and made to share. From garden harvests to Happy Chooks frittata, every dish tells the story of where it came from and the hands that prepared it.

Whether it’s a workshop, gathering, or celebration, our buffet-style menu brings people together — slow food, shared joy, and the taste of community 🥕✨

Every Tuesday at Common Ground, something quietly beautiful happens.

While the kitchen isn’t hosting weddings or long-table dinners, it becomes a place of connection, where chefs prepare morning tea for the volunteers, interns, and staff who keep this space alive.

We call it Rooted Tuesdays, a small glimpse into what happens behind the scenes when the farm, kitchen, and community come together. It’s about slowing down, sharing food, learning from the land, and remembering why we do what we do, to stay grounded, to grow together, and to celebrate community in its truest form.

On a long table at Common Ground, the plates tell the story first. Roasted carrots and beets, still carrying the sweetness of the soil. Pumpkin and peppers layered on tahini, scattered with seeds. A slice of orange and almond cake resting in syrup, ready to close the meal.

It’s not just about what’s on the plate, but what happens around it ,neighbours meeting, conversations flowing, and community being woven together one dish at a time.

This is food grown with care, cooked with love, and shared on Wadawurrung Country 🌱
