• PUT SIMPLY...THANK YOU •
From the beginning, Slow Lane Cafe has existed for people — especially those doing it tough. Whether through hardship or success, every one of us knows what it feels like to be lonely. It’s been our absolute privilege to stand in that gap, creating a space where everyone is seen, welcomed, and reminded that they truly matter.
After years of sharing in people’s stories, laughs, and lattes, we’re taking a deep breath and stepping out of the Slow Lane. This Friday 30th May marks the end of our personal part in this story as we close the doors for one final time.
Slow Lane Cafe has always been more than coffee. As a social enterprise, we’ve been privileged to walk alongside dozens of incredible people with additional needs — including autism, intellectual disabilities, cerebral palsy and more — not just helping them learn hospitality skills, but helping them discover the strengths they already had to offer the world.
Together, we’ve given away tens of thousands of dollars to those doing it tough, and in return, we’ve met some of the most beautiful people you could hope to encounter. This place has been built on purpose, kindness, and community — and we’re so grateful you’ve been part of it.
None of this would have been possible without the unwavering support of Lifestyle Church, who championed this vision from the very beginning. Their generosity, belief, and backing have made Slow Lane not just a café, but a place of real impact — and we honour them with deep gratitude.
Now, it’s time for a new chapter. We’re in the process of stepping back and making room for others who share our love for community and connection. While the future for Slow Lane is still taking shape, we look forward to seeing where that leads.
In the meantime, thank you. For every chat at the counter, every kind word, and every time you chose to slow down here. It’s been a privilege. While it’s goodbye from us, we hope to see you soon.
We’ll miss you enormously but we know you’ll support whatever is next with the same massive heart you’ve shown us.
Please never forget, you really do matter.
With enormous gratitude,
Simon & Sarah
