We want to say a massive, heartfelt thank you and farewell to our lovely Lali for everything she has done for the Friend in Hand. She’s been here right from the very start, and it didn’t take long for her to quickly become the absolute soul of this pub.
From the endless laughs to the comforting chats, the place simply wouldn’t be what it is today without her.
Please join us in thanking Lali for the memories and wishing her nothing but the absolute best in her next chapter.

Cheers to everyone who came down and celebrated one year since we re-opened the Friend in Hand. 🍻

From party hats and glow sticks to seafood trays, VB eskies, raffle chaos and Milo standing on the bar calling numbers — safe to say it was a pretty great night.

Big thanks to all the locals who’ve supported us over the past year. We’ve built such a great little community here in Glebe and we’re bloody grateful for it.

And judging by the smiles on the winners’ faces… everyone was pretty chuffed with their haul. 🦞🥩

The iconic “19th Hole” golfer poster was painted by Alan Douglas Baker, a renowned Australian portrait and landscape artist.

And these weren’t just prints — vintage pub signs like this were originally hand-painted in reverse on thick glass using vibrant translucent paints so they could glow from behind the bar.
