Important Update from the Grand Hotel Goomeri

To our valued customers,

After a great deal of thought, we’ve made the incredibly difficult decision to close the kitchen every Monday and Tuesday until further notice.

This decision has not been made lightly. Unfortunately, a combination of reduced trade on these days and ongoing staffing shortages has left us with no other realistic option.

As many of you know, I am currently managing the pub, running the kitchen as Head Chef, and working behind the bar. While I’ve been doing everything I can to keep all areas operating as normal, it has simply become too much for one person to continue sustainably.

Despite advertising extensively, we have received absolutely no applications for our Chef/Cook position. We even have accommodation available for the right applicant, but unfortunately we are still yet to find someone to join our team.

The bar will remain open on Mondays and Tuesdays as usual, provided trade is sufficient to justify opening. We will continue to monitor this and keep everyone updated should anything change.

The kitchen will continue to operate during its normal trading hours from Wednesday through to Sunday, and we look forward to welcoming you then.

We genuinely appreciate the understanding, patience and support our community has shown during what has been a very challenging time. Every meal purchased, every drink enjoyed at the bar, every share of our job advertisements and every recommendation to friends and family helps more than you know.

📢 IMPORTANT KITCHEN UPDATE 📢

To our valued customers,

From Monday, 29th June, our kitchen menu and trading hours will be changing due to an extreme shortage of kitchen staff.

Despite advertising for a chef, we have received no applications at all. This is not a decision we have made lightly, but unfortunately we have no choice until we are able to recruit a new chef.

We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your patience, understanding and continued support during this difficult time.

We are actively looking for a qualified chef to join our team and hope to return to our full menu and normal trading hours as soon as possible.

If you know someone who may be interested in the position, or could simply help us by sharing this post, it would mean a great deal to us and could help us reach the right person.
