📢 BIOSECURITY ANNOUNCEMENT📢

Is it time to PANIC?! Well not quite yet, however as a precaution any egg or equipment pick ups will have to park in front of the gates and NOT continue onto our property under ANY circumstance. We appreciate your cooperation.

We are incredibly lucky in that we have a multi-pen breeding facility that can be fully enclosed to keep any wild birds out and away from our breeders, so while we don’t need to panic, it is best to keep any foot traffic to a minimum. Better safe than sorry!

AI has so far been confined a handful of pelagic birds - those living out at sea - and we are hopeful it will not spill over into the bird population on land. Nevertheless, we will remain vigilant and put in some extra biosecurity measures in place for peace of mind.

Welsummers are always so reserved and polite, they put their wings over younger birds and stand watch for any aerial attacks - but that pleasant facade was out the window when these two young boys spotted each other frolicking.

Luckily no one was hurt, they agreed to disagree and kept on being polite in their own space 🤷🏼‍♀️
