ALØFT x EVETT 🫱🏼‍🫲🏽

Last weekend we had the privilege of hosting Hobart-born and Michelin-awarded chef Joseph Lidgerwood for a fun and long-awaited collaboration celebrating Tasmania and South Korea (Joseph’s adopted home where he opened fine dining restaurant Evett).

We were absolutely thrilled and flattered to see people queuing out the door to support the pop-up, and so eager to dig into our three item menu: Joseph’s fried chicken, mul kimchi and Tasmania’s most prized sparkling wine .

We had such a great time and we’re hoping there’s more exciting things to come from it!

There’s fried chicken, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚’𝙨 𝙈𝙞𝙘𝙝𝙚𝙡𝙞𝙣-𝙘𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙗𝙧𝙚 𝙆𝙤𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙣 𝙛𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙙 𝙘𝙝𝙞𝙘𝙠𝙚𝙣.

Enter Joseph Lidgerwood, a humble Hobart-born chef who’s made big waves in the culinary sphere and also his adopted home of South Korea - most notably, was named 2021 Michelin Young Chef of the Year, opened his own Seoul-based fine dining restaurant Evett and achieved two Michelin stars, and even competed alongside legendary chefs on popular Netflix series Culinary Class Wars.

For one night only, Joseph is coming home for a very special collab with Aløft and together we’ll be serving up a limited menu (but done well. Really, really well). Think traditional Korean fried chicken and pickles by Joseph, combined with one of the best bubbles Tasmania has on offer , and of course spicy vibes, views & service by yours truly.

You’ll want to mark this one in your diaries and organise the troops because it’s first in, best dressed. Walk-ins only, doors opening at 4pm until we are sold out.

We are again thrilled to have both restaurants recognised in this years AGFG Chef Hat Awards! ✨

Judged on food alone (criteria: ingredients, taste, presentation, technique, value and consistency), Aløft and Maria join the top 1% of Australia’s restaurants to be awarded.

Huge thank you to the Australian Good Food Guide, our hardworking chefs and FOH, suppliers of amazing produce, and of course, everyone that has chosen to dine at our restaurants and spread the good word to others.

WE ARE HIRING!

With the very exciting and fast approaching opening of our beautiful new in mid-May, we are currently looking to expand our teams in both restaurants with many different roles to be filled in front of house and kitchen.

KITCHEN - CDP, commis and apprentice chef roles available in Aløft & Maria.

FRONT OF HOUSE – casual and part-time roles also available between both restaurants.

Its time to wrap up another year!

Aløft will celebrating entering 2023 with an extravagant wine matched dinner service leading into to the early fireworks show.

Then at 10.30pm we will be swinging the doors open to the public, Turning our speakers up and slinging cocktails to get you ready for the big show 🎆🎇🎆

Dinner and matched drinks will be $300pp and we shall be celebrating all the local seafood and produce summer in hobart has to offer!!
