This weekend is a food lovers paradise here at Huskisson!
Start off with Emma's Coffee Spot coffee.. Tonight from 5pm we have street eats and beats on the main street.. (My miss A will be drumming the djembes tonight) 😎👍
Then tomorrow we have the Husky markets and the annual burger making 🍔 competition 😋

🚨ENTANGLED WHALE - South Coast NSW 🐋

We are asking residents on the South Coast of NSW to please be on the lookout today and tomorrow (Friday June 12th and Saturday June 13th) for a northbound entangled whale, trailing two yellow buoys. This whale is currently travelling with one other smaller whale. Note that this is a different individual to the entangled whale sighted off Gabo Island earlier this week.

We believe this whale may be in the following areas -

FRIDAY JUNE 12th:

🔹1pm - Sussex Inlet
🔹3pm- St George’s Headland
🔹5pm - Jervis Bay
🔹6.30pm - Point Perpendicular

SATURDAY JUNE 13th:

🔹6am - Kiama
🔹10am - Hill 60, Port Kembla
🔹12pm - Flagstaff Point Lighthouse, Wollongong
🔹5pm - Stanwell Park

Wildlife rescuers are monitoring a humpback whale that's entangled in two yellow buoys off the south coast.

The animal was first spotted near the Ulladulla Lighthouse earlier this morning, and appears to be migrating north with an infant.

Pip Jacobs from ORRCA said she's working with the New South Wales National Parks and Wildlife Service to assess response options.

She said it's unclear how the animal is affected.

"It's difficult to assess how its impacting the whales movements at the moment from what we've seen. But it would be creating some sort of drag on that animal," Ms Jacobs said.

"That's what we see with entanglements - it will often slow them down slightly or stop them from deep diving. It really depends on the type of entanglement and the weight of the gear they are carrying."
