Head Bartender (Permanent Part-Time)
Up to 39 Hours Per Week | Thursday – Sunday | The Rusty Nail Cocktail Bar | Ipswich
The Rusty Nail is looking for an experienced and passionate Head Bartender to become the operational leader of our venue.
This isn't a venue management role. It's an opportunity for an experienced bartender to take ownership of service, lead from the front, and help deliver the exceptional guest experiences The Rusty Nail has become known for. Working closely with the owners, you'll be responsible for leading every shift, maintaining high standards behind the bar, mentoring the team, and ensuring every guest leaves wanting to come back.

The Role
* Permanent Part-Time
* Approximately 39 hours per week
* Thursday to Sunday roster
* Regular Friday and Saturday evening shifts
* Salary package based on experience
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the bar team throughout service.
* Deliver exceptional customer experiences every shift.
* Prepare cocktails consistently and efficiently to recipe.
* Mentor and support junior bartenders.
* Open and close the venue independently.
* Complete cash reconciliation and end-of-day procedures.
* Secure the venue and ensure all opening and closing checklists are completed.
* Maintain cleanliness, organisation and presentation throughout the venue.
* Ensure stock levels are maintained throughout service.
* Work closely with the owners to uphold The Rusty Nail's standards and culture.
About You
* Previous cocktail bar experience is essential.
* Confident leading a team during busy service.
* Calm under pressure with excellent communication skills.
* Reliable, accountable and highly organised.
* Comfortable opening and closing the venue independently.
* Passionate about cocktails, hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences.
* Available to work Thursday through Sunday on a permanent roster.
