Little Pho Tuck Shop Vietnamese Pho Restaurant

06/03/2025

Hi everyone 🥰

Just a little update from our Little Pho Tuckshop family. After 5 months, we have finally sold our little shop. We can’t even begin to express the relief we feel - mum can finally focus on her recovery journey. She’s doing okay but has been in excruciating pain ever since the accident. She’s will begin her treatment with a pain specialist soon. So grateful for all of the doctors and allied health specialists at the Alfred Hospital who have been supporting her.

After 8 years at 6 Woodford Avenue Kew, it’s sad to say goodbye to the place out family built from scratch. We want to thank every single one of you for supporting our family business. Thank you for championing my mums cooking - it was such a pleasure to serve our local Kew community. We can’t wait to see what the new owners of Viet Kew Corner do in our little space! Please go support another Vietnamese family .corner ✨

Lastly, we just want to thank Cameron Ryan from Xcllusive Business Sales for supporting our family during this sale. Cameron reached out to our family and offered to help us sell the business pro bono. We are so grateful for his efforts and honestly don’t know what we would do without him. Huge thanks to Andy Shaw from Jim’s legal for helping us with the legal things pro bono too. Blown away by the kindness of our community 😭

Thank you to everyone for checking in, sharing and donating to our gofundme campaign. Paying rent while we are unable to trade has been really hard but the fundraising campaign gave us some extra room to breathe.

Thank you for showing up and supporting us during one of our darkest moments. We are sad it ended this way but look forward to a future of rest and healing.

Until next time Kew ❤️

Hiii just a little update on us. On Wednesday, mum had a terrible accident at her restaurant where she spilt boiling oily beef phở broth all over her face, arms and body 😭 she called me crying so I sped over as quick as I could. Once I got there she was OPEN??! I told her that I’m driving to the hospital now but in classic Viet mum fashion she refused to go until I told her that she might scar the longer she left it. She thought pandadol and burn cream was enough even tho she could barely move and looked like she was going to pass out at any minute.

Anyways, I drove her to st Vincent’s hospital where she got transferred to the Alfred Burns unit. All the doctors n nurses have been amazing and they couldn’t believe it when I told them that she was not gonna come to the hospital. She’s burnt 20 percent of her body but she’s okay. She will be undergoing skin grafting surgery next week but at least she’s conscious and alive ❤️

My mum works so so hard and I often worry about her, especially in the kitchen. Yesterday confirmed some fears I’ve been having ever since she opened her little shop 8 years ago. She works 6 days a week 14 hour days cooking 50 dishes on her menu, making 80L of pho everyday, carrying 100kg of meat up the stairs and like makes literally EVERYTHING from scratch 😭😭😭 its just too much, especially for a tiny Vietnamese aunty - I’ve been begging her to stop overworking for some time so I was really surprised when she said that maybe this is a sign for her to rest and realign herself with her body ❤️‍🩹

Anyways, we are sharing this sob story bc this accident means we need to sell her business 😭😭 she’s stuck in a lease that has another 2-3 years on it and I don’t think she will be able to work for some time 💔

I am asking my community to share this with anyone who may want to buy her business so at least she doesn’t make a loss 😭 if u have an aunty or uncle or rich business person who wants to buy her little Vietnamese shop, please dm me.

If you would like to support my mum, our amazing friends have set up a gofundme. Link in bio ❤️
