Happy World Donut Day for tomorrow!

The day originates from a 1938 Salvation Army fundraising campaign honoring the volunteers who served doughnuts to soldiers during World War I.

You'll next see us out at World Street Eats Night on Friday 12 June. Come and see us in Civic Square between 4 and 9pm and we will donate $1 from every bag sold to the The Salvation Army Australia Red Shield Appeal.

Come and enjoy cracker night in Bridport this Saturday 30 May from 5-7pm brought to you by Bridport Lions Club!! We'll be there serving up your favourite hot mini donuts!

Twelve tonnes of fireworks have been sold across Tasmania for this Saturday’s annual Cracker Night celebrations, with 610 permits issued for backyard and community displays.

The event, traditionally marking Commonwealth Day and held on May 24 or the following Saturday, allows permit holders 18yo and over to set off fireworks on properties of at least 1,000 square metres.

Brightstar Fireworks’ Shannon Palmer said thousands of Tasmanians would enjoy lighting up a gloomy, wet week, with major community displays planned at Redbanks at Nugent and Geneva Christian College.

Permit applications have closed and fireworks can only be lit by permit holders in approved evening windows.
