Charlies Cafe is named after Charles Porter, known as Charlie to the community. Charles Porter is the founder of Porters, commencing the business in 1883. Porters has expanded over the years and today is proud to offer the region 5 Mitre 10 store locations, two dedicated Trade Centres, Plumbing Plus and Inspirations Paint Stores within the local Mackay and Whitsunday region. With a custom manufacturing facility in Glenella offering Glass & Aluminium, and Truss & Frame, Charles Porters and Sons have created a unique company, that is still locally owned and today operated by fifth generation Porter family members.
