Bushman’s Bakery is a wholesale bakery with a Retail Shop located at 45 Evans Avenue in North Mackay. It is owned and operated by Peter Grant and David McCann whom both had many years of experience in the bakery industry with Goodman Fielder. Both were made redundant when the bakery at The Fourways in West Mackay was closed. They purchased what was then the Baker’s Pantry with a staff of one plus
the owners in July 2003. Bushman's Bakery product range includes sliced bread and bread rolls, pies and pastries, cakes and slices as well as sandwiches, wraps and rolls. Our customers are independently owned shops and take away businesses in Mackay and the surrounding district. Our consumers expect the freshest, good quality, long lasting and great tasting products. The success of the business is dependent on delivering products which are better than anyone else’s products. Employee numbers have grown from one to thirty-two over four years. We currently have three Apprentice Baker/Pastry Cooks from fourth year down to a school based apprentice. Positions cover baking bread rolls, baking pastry and cakes, delivery, slicing and packing, cleaning and administration.
