Mapleton Public House

Mapleton Public House Opened in 1910, our family run country pub has beaut views, food and service. A place to connect to each other. Welcome home.

For centuries, humans have used food as a life source beyond sustenance. Food connects us – to the land, to the water, to the sky, to each other. One century of industrialised food has severed these bonds. In a leafy town within the Sunshine Coast hinterland there is a movement burgeoning. A recognition of this lost connection and a desire to rekindle, rebuild and reconnect to the land, to the water, to the sky, to each other.

Our incredible Next Gen chefs were in-house this week previewing their dishes they’ve been working away on and talking through flavours and technique with Cameron Matthews and the team.

Sitting with them was Sam, our now Head Chef. It’s pretty amazing that four years ago he was in exactly the same seat that these up-and-coming chefs are, and this year he’s on the other side of the table.

This event has always been one of our faves for that reason. Backing some young chefs and challenging them to push themselves… and what they have created so far is absolutely 🤌🏻

Make sure you grab a friend and grab a ticket to come along. X

Not all heroes wear capes. Some carry carrots.

If you’re coming for lunch today you’ll be noshing on these little beauties from the Falls Farm picked by our team this morning (with the help of our trusty sidekick, Frida, of course).

You’ve heard it all before… nutrient density starts declining once veges are harvested, and the soil at the Falls Farm is pretty special, but oh. my. the. taste.

Come in and see x

We’ve been searching high and low for four exciting up-and-coming chefs to take on our NexGen dinner on 28 July and it’s finally time to introduce the lineup…. Drum roll please…

Taking on this year’s challenge will be:

/ Patrick Ross from Golden Avenue, Brisbane
/ Alby Pieper from Blume Restaurant, Scenic Rim
/ Dylan Gant from Essa Restaurant & Wine Bar, Brisbane
/ James Balagbis from Supernormal, Brisbane

Today we took the crew out to The Falls Farm, where Farmer Pedro officially revealed this year’s brief... Brassicas! Yep… An entire menu inspired by the cabbage family.

Each chef has now been handed their own hero vegetable and sent away to dream up a course around it.

With Farmer Pedro and Chef Cameron Matthews mentoring them along the way, they’ll have just a few weeks to transform some of winter’s most underrated vegetables into an exceptional four-course feast.

With talent like this at the helm, it’s sure to be impressive. Come along and see what they create x

This October, Rowena Wise takes her full band on the road for 10+ dates across Australia to support her sophomore album, Bad Things Feel Good. The record is a tender, point-blank look at the pain of transformation and what it means to be flesh and blood.

Written over two years of near-constant touring and recorded live over three days at The Ratshack in Collingwood with producer Rob Muinos (Julia Jacklin, Didirri), the album traces heartbreak, estrangement, and the knottier growing pains of adulthood through candid poetic lyricism and a raw live production. The songs hold space rather than demand attention, and live, they hit even harder.

Since debuting in 2018, Rowena has amassed over 10 million streams, earned airplay across triple j, Double j and Unearthed, and toured extensively across Australia, the UK, Europe, the USA and Canada, supporting artists including Holy Holy, Ball Park Music, Bernard Fanning and Paul Dempsey. Her 2024 debut album, Senseless Acts of Beauty, was praised by CLASH Magazine as “carefully etched indie folk” and shortlisted for the Australian Music Prize. Her highly anticipated sophomore album, Bad Things Feel Good*, a tender, point-blank meditation on transformation, is out August 7, 2026 via Beloved Records.

Don’t miss Rowena at Mapleton Pub on Friday, 30 October! Tix available via the website.

Sunshine Coast show holiday this Friday!

Yes, we are open… and even if the weather doesn’t cooperate, it’s still a beautiful spot on the deck under a blankie to soak up the view with a vino.

What are you waiting for? Book a table to make sure you don’t miss out x
