Still not a single word from council regarding the closed road outside the shop.

No dates or timeframes of works or information regarding why there was no consideration given to businesses who would be impacted by these works.

It’s very disappointing.

This Wednesday 03/06/26 is different.

We will be closed this week after finding out that the whole street will be barricaded off this week with no vehicular access to our premises. There is no way for rubbish to be collected and no way for deliveries to arrive.

We were never made aware of this by Mareeba Shire Council. There was no notice whatsoever until I contacted them last week to ask how long the trucks would be taking up all of the parking spaces outside JumRum.

One would imagine that council must have a responsibility to contact business owners whose ability to trade is going to be adversely affected by planned road works.

I have sought clarification regarding the above, I am still waiting for a response 3 days later.

Anyhow. Sorry for any inconvenience. Hopefully the road works don’t go overtime like most other projects and we will be back on deck next week.

We would far prefer to be at work doing what we do, but when there is no real access to the shop, there doesn’t seem to be much point.

We are back tonight for another week of madness😁 We love it.

For anyone who missed out last week, we apologise. We sold out on 3 of the 5 days. It is always hard to know what the day will bring. We make our bases freshly every day and whatever isn’t used is thrown away. We find that this gives you the best experience and that is always our goal.

We will be going over our menu over the next couple of weeks and making a few changes. All of the favourites will be staying and we may add a few more combinations.
