Tonight in the band room it’s the Melbourne Karaoke Big Band!
It’s all live karaoke, where you, yes you, get up on stage and belt out a tune backed by an all live 20 piece big band complete with backing singers. Seriously, it’s a frickin free public service.
In terms of facing your fears, it’s right up there with swimming with sharks, wingsuiting, or giving a wedding speech with 5 minutes notice. But this is free. And with backing singers in a very supportive environment, you are guaranteed to slay.
Everyone who has a crack walks out of the Retreat looking ten years younger with a new swagger in their walk.

On Saturday July 25 come celebrate the double single launch of ‘How I Know It’s Right’ and ‘Picking Up Glass’ with Max Aurora & The Southern Lights supported by Meraki Minds and Grevillea Hedge.

For the unfamiliar, Max Aurora & The Southern Lights blend their dreamy, bittersweet indie rock with the punch of pop-punk and emo. Led by intersex / non-binary songwriter Max Aurora, they explore narrative-driven songwriting, often inhabiting different characters’ perspectives, drawing on empathy, imagery and lived experience.

Us rehearsing a new tune Djin Cocktail for our upcoming show 8pm this Friday 17th July bringing coastal surf vibes to The Retreat Hotel opening for The Wraylettes. This will be a cracker of a gig. Miss Lou Lou is going to break out the double bass and her tap shoes to dance and play up a storm. We're getting breathless just thinking about it. Best of all this show is free. Come along join in the fun.
