Frankston RSL Wellbeing Team invites veterans and their partners to a social connection activity to see “Waitress” the musical, at Her Majesty’s Theatre Melbourne on Wednesday, 8th July, 2026.

The heart warming and empowering musical is a Broadway hit, and tells the story of Jenna, a small-town waitress and expert pie maker, who longs to escape her rocky marriage and start again. When a baking contest, an unexpected new romance, and the support of her fellow waitresses offer her a taste of change, Jenna discovers that the secret ingredient to happiness might be closer than she imagined.

Reducing social isolation among the Frankston RSL veteran community remains a key priority for the club, and our wellbeing team consistently excels at organising engaging and meaningful outings throughout the year. These excursions are a wonderful opportunity for participants to socialise, meet new people, and get out and about!

Let's welcome our newest Military Trainee Wellbeing Advocate, Shaun McRoberts, who is currently training to become a Wellbeing Officer for the Frankston RSL Wellbeing Team.

Shaun is a young Navy veteran and an avid motorcyclist. He works at the Frankston Fire Station, and when not on duty, he enjoys joining other veterans on a weekly motorbike ride from Baxter to Tooradin. This allows him to connect with fellow veterans while enjoying the ride.

Shaun joined the Frankston RSL in 2025, and once he completes his training, he will join other Wellbeing Advocates—Carol, Tony, and Julianne—in sharing the responsibilities of a Level 2 Military Wellbeing Advocate.

Every Thursday, riders gather at the Baxter Tavern in Baxter at 8:45 AM and depart shortly after. For more information about joining the rides with other veterans, please contact Committee Member and Wellbeing Advocate & Mentor Tony Grice at (03) 9785 3221. Participants will need to have their own registered motorcycle and a valid license to join.

The Wednesday Welcome Post Café Session was 'oversubscribed' this week as 62 veterans and their families enjoyed a FREE talk on Men’s Health by Alan White, Author, Counsellor and Men’s Health Advocate, and organised by Frankston RSL Veteran Wellbeing Advocate Tony Grice.

“Men can be quite particular about cars and machinery. It doesn’t matter if we’re farmers or ‘veterans’—when a service is due on our machinery, we either do it ourselves or we get a mechanic to do it. By carrying out regular servicing, we keep our machinery in peak condition and prevent costly repairs before they become major issues”, Alan White.

Additionally, Frankston RSL is supporting the BINS4Blokes campaign at Continence Health Australia – a national awareness and advocacy campaign promoting the installation of incontinence product disposal bins in male public amenities.
