I love knowing the origin of words (old English teacher 😁)
Did you know that the word companion comes from Latin word 'companio' literally meaning one with whom you share bread?
Sometimes the oldest words remind us of the simplest truths
For our Sicilian family bread takes centre stage with every meal. It is the side to the antipasto, the scarpetta to mop up the sauce in the pasta bowl - it gathers the family and welcomes strangers to our table
Tomorrow our shelves will be stocked with our sourdough - pop in and grab a loaf to share with someone at your table
See you tomorrow
