This cake was specifically designed for Valentina’s 9th birthday. Her theme was purple, hearts, thin black bows and pearls. So I put my thinking cap on and came up with this design. I loved how it finished up. Finished off with the perfect custom fropper by Kim.

I have made a lot of pamper partly themed cakes. Each time tweaking the design slightly so each little birthday girl had something completely customised to her. But this year for little Valentina I wanted something completely different, something new, something fun. So I was sitting in front if my sketch book and I had an idea - what if the cake was wearing a robe? Sometimes I have the worst ideas but this one turned out exactly as I hoped it would.

I got way too carried away making the animals for this cake. One minute it was a Sunday morning and the last cake for the week had left to be delivered. I thought I would get a head start on making the animals for Elijah’s cake. I was having so much fun before I knew it the street lights were one and dinner was cold but I had the cutest animals sitting on my bench to look at for a week. There are no moulds to make the animals. They are all custom made to suit each cake. To make the giraffe, lion, elephant, zebra and monkey took me approx 15hrs. I loved designing this cake for little Elijah. I have the best job.
