Thanks to ABC Hobart for inviting Liz in for a chat with Leon Compton this morning about the opportunities opening up for river tourism in the Derwent Valley following the removal of the old Bridgewater Bridge lift span.

It’s exciting to see local businesses already getting behind the idea. During the interview, Liz mentioned that The Bush Inn has offered a complimentary bottle of sparkling wine for groups arriving by boat and dining at the hotel - a simple but wonderful example of the welcome river visitors can expect.

How good to see the bridge open! Whilst it’s not quite the perfect weather yet, a trip from the city to New Norfolk is an absolute pleasure. To sweeten the deal, we’re offering a free bottle of sparkling for any group making the journey for a feed to The Bush by boat. Just call to book 😊🙏🍾🥂⛵️⚓️

We’ve made some little tweaks for winter! Our Tassie Blue eye dish has got an upgrade and we’ve added a cottage pie to the specials board. How good do they look! 🤤😊🙏

How incredible does this look 🤤🤤 It’s a 7 year old Cape Grim breeding cow that has spent almost 5 months in our dry ager. We have just 8 400g portions available. We’ll be pouring the 18 LaJudith Pinot from our friends at Glaetzer-Dixon Family Winemakers to pair with it if you want to experience one of the best meat and wine combos Tassie has to offer 😊🙏🍷🥩

There is no other restaurant in Tasmania, possibly the country that you will be able to taste something like this, we could not be happier with how this one has come out. It’s pretty special 😉
