The 16th of May was Mr Rice’s last business day. It feels a little bitter and sad.

Thank you for being our customers over so many years and for visiting us so many times. We truly enjoyed all the moments shared with you, your families, and your friends.

This lovely man reunited with us today. I still remember when we first opened our restaurant, I had no idea how to do any marketing. He taught me how to use Facebook and Instagram to promote our restaurant, and it truly helped us a lot. He also introduced us to our gorgeous cat. Dearest friends and customers, we have always felt your kindness, hospitality, and deep love. Last night, some people were coming for dinner said to us, “We will come to see you again next week before you close.” Our hearts were warmed again and again.
As time goes by, we are gradually running low on stock in our kitchen. By next Friday and Saturday, many dishes may be sold out, so please reserve with me in advance if you would like to visit.

Dear customers and friends,

We would like to let you know that our restaurant, Mr Rice, will be closing permanently in two weeks.

Time has gone by so quickly — we have been here for seven wonderful years. We are truly grateful for all of your support, kindness, and friendship throughout the years. Together, we made it through the pandemic and many difficult times, and we could not have done it without you.

Now it is time for us to take a break and return to China to spend time with our families. Running this restaurant has been a beautiful journey, and every moment and memory will stay with us forever.

We will always think of you and hope that life brings happiness and good health to you and your loved ones every day.

Our official final day will be the 16th of May. We would love to see you one more time before we close, if you are able to visit. Otherwise, perhaps we will run into each other somewhere in Newcastle one day and have the chance to say hello again.

Thank you for being part of our journey at Mr Rice. It has truly been a pleasure to meet and serve you all.
