Out with the old, in with the new! 😍

Whilst our coffee setup has served us incredibly well over the years (reliably turning approximately 4 tonne of coffee a year into the delicious caffeinated beverages you’ve come to know and love), we decided it was time for a little refresh.

Our upgraded workflow will help us to ensure improved consistency, enhanced flavours, and even faster service!

We’re absolutely loving the improved flavours, but we’d LOVE to hear what you think - can you taste the difference?

A massive thank you to .roasters for helping make it happen, for the install, for the last minute save, and for capturing all the action! 🫶🏽

FESTIVE TRADING HOURS

Yessss, we’ll be open and serving throughout this festive season! However, we are allowing our Convoy team a couple of very well-earned short breathers in amongst the craziness of holiday season meaning we’ll be closed on both Christmas Day and New Year’s Day this year.

Christmas Day | CLOSED

Boxing Day | 7:00am - 1:00pm

Sat 27th Dec | 6:00am - 2:30pm
Sun 28th Dec | 7:00am - 2:30pm
Mon 29th Dec | 6:00am - 2:30pm
Tues 30th Dec | 6:00am - 2:30pm

New Years Eve | 6:00am - 1:00pm

New Years Day | CLOSED

We will return to normal operating hours (6am - 2:30pm)
from Friday 2nd of January.

HAPPY FRIDAY!! ☕️🤩

Somewhere in amongst all of the craziness that 2025 has thrown up, we somehow made it to six years of Convoy Commune! (Officially, it was on the 19th of November).

It’s sure been one crazy ride, but without your continued love and support, we certainly wouldn’t still be here doing what we love!

To say a massive thank you, a little early Merry Christmas, a simple Happy Friday, or even just to put some smiles on some dials amongst the heaviness we’ve seen in the world lately, the coffee’s are on us this morning!!

HEAD BARISTA / ASSISTANT CAFE MANAGER

We’re Convoy Commune - a neighbourhood ‘good vibe’ destination in Merewether, Newcastle. We’re seeking an energetic & passionate hospitality professional who understands the importance of delivering consistently amazing coffee in equal measure to warm & welcoming customer service!

Apart from a ‘good vibe’ work environment in a desirable beachside suburb, with a genuine community of seriously incredible customers, you’ll have the opportunity to enjoy a fantastic work / life balance (offering the option of a 4 or 5 day working week with 2 consecutive days off), and you’ll be working with one of the finest coffee workflows around.

If coffee & people are your thing, you’re an experienced team player who loves working under pressure in a high-volume setting, you lead by example, and you’re passionate, friendly, professional and hard working with exceptional customer service & leadership skills, then we’d absolutely love to discuss this opportunity with you further!

Full Time or Permanent Part Time position.
$65 - 75k salary (38 hours / week. Additional payment for additional hours).
Coffee & on-shift meals.
Relocation assistance negotiable for the right candidate.

Whilst this weather might make it a bit hard to believe, Spring is right around the corner and we’re looking to add some more key players to our incredible Convoy team!

EXPERIENCED BARISTA / SENIOR BARISTA: casual, part time, or full time (with very attractive salary) opportunity. Experience in a high volume setting. Specialty coffee experience preferred, but not essential.

BARISTA / F.O.H. / CAFE ALL ROUNDER: casual or part time opportunity. Hospitality experience, especially in high volume settings preferred, but not essential.

We have an exciting opportunity for two key players to join our Convoy Commune team!

EXPERIENCED BARISTA / F.OH. SUPERVISOR; Full or Part Time with attractive salary for the right candidate.

EXPERIENCED BARISTA: Full Time, Part Time or Casual Opportunity available.

We’re seeking passionate hospitality professionals with strong leadership skills, experience in a high volume setting, as well as specialty coffee experience. Experience with recipes, dialing in & troubleshooting are also preferred, but not essential.

If you’re confident & friendly, with exceptional customer service & communication skills; you’re hard working & love a high energy, high volume setting; and you value a positive workplace with a strong team culture, then we’d absolutely love to hear from you!
