I’m heartbroken with the passing of my friend, a person who taught me the real meaning of life, one of the purest hearts I ever met in my life and throughout my journey in coffee.

Always looking after his beloved wife, being her eyes and always looking forward for seeing me, year after year.

Mr. Jose Paulo Borgens, producer of the best Yellow Bourbon, owner of Sitio Pinheirinho, I won’t see you when I visit Mantiqueira region, but you will be always in my heart. RIP

HELPING CHILDREN IN BRAZIL THROUGH EDUCATION

For over 13 years, Minas Hill has proudly supported the GIMA – Intermunicipal Environmental Challenge, often quietly and behind the scenes.

This remarkable initiative has positively impacted thousands of children through environmental education, citizenship and community engagement, helping build a better future for the next generation.

Today, we’re inviting our partners, customers and friends to join us. If you or your organisation would like to support GIMA and help expand its impact, we’d love to hear from you.

Together, we can make an even greater difference.

Coffee is not one market. It’s two.

Most people focus on the flat price of coffee, but professionals know the real story often lies in the Arabica–Robusta spread.

When Arabica becomes relatively cheaper, roasters increase Arabica in their blends. When Robusta offers better value, formulations shift the other way. This spread influences buying decisions, hedging strategies, and ultimately the global coffee trade.

The last two crop years reminded us of this. Weather issues in Vietnam and Brazil’s Conilon regions tightened Robusta supply, sending Robusta prices to record highs and compressing the Arabica–Robusta spread. Traditional blend economics were turned upside down.

For producers, traders, roasters, and importers, watching the spread is often more important than watching the outright price.

Coffee isn’t just about price. It’s about relative value.

What a week at Golden Bean.

From the cupping tables to the awards night, from conversations around roasting curves to discussions about sourcing and sustainability, every moment reinforced how dynamic and innovative our industry has become.

Congratulations to all the roasters, competitors, judges, sponsors and organisers who made this event such a success. The passion, craftsmanship and commitment to quality on display were truly inspiring.

It was fantastic to reconnect with old friends, meet new faces, share Brazilian coffees, and see firsthand how specialty coffee continues to evolve and raise the bar year after year.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by, tasted our coffees, shared their stories, and made the week so memorable. We leave with new ideas, stronger relationships, and even more excitement for the future of coffee.

See you next year! ☕🏆
