Well... Grandad had a little mishap on Thursday! 😅 He slipped in the shower and sprained his left arm. Despite hopping around one-handed for the past few days, he's been determined to get everything ready because he didn't want to let our wonderful customers down.

With this cold, wet and rainy weather, there's nothing better than warming up with a bowl of our delicious Hot & Sour Chicken Soup or one of Grandad's hearty curries. 🍲🌧️

GRANDAD’S SPICE KITCHEN


Unfortunately the weather does not seem to be too good for this Sunday evening. We are still recovering from sickness and don’t think it would be a good idea to get drenched in the food van, and we’re sure many of our customers wouldn’t be too keen to venture out in the rain either.

So sadly, we have made the difficult decision to remain closed this Sunday as well.

We sincerely apologise to all our wonderful customers for the inconvenience and appreciate all the kind messages, patience, and support while we recover. We are missing seeing everyone and hope to be back serving you all very soon.

Perth is bracing for a wild weekend of destructive winds, heavy rain and possible flooding as a severe cold front barrels towards the city and the South West.

Grandad is still unwell, however he is slowly getting better ❤️

Unfortunately, he’s still not quite well enough to trade today, so Grandad’s Spice Kitchen will not be available tonight (Sunday) at Maida Vale, corner of Midland & Ridge Hill Road.

We’ll be back full steam ahead next Sunday, 31st May, and we can’t wait to see everyone again.

We’ve missed all our wonderful customers and hope you’ve missed us too 😊

📢 Hi everyone — unfortunately, Grandad’s Spice Kitchen will be closed today, Sunday 17 May, due to ill health. We apologise for any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding ❤️

Over the past year, we’ve noticed (and heard from many others!) that Perth tends to hibernate a little over Winter ❄️ The past few Wednesdays have been a bit quiet, so we’re considering reducing our Wednesday trading and operating Sundays only at the corner of Midland Rd & Ridge Hill Rd, Maida Vale.

Before making any decisions, we’d really love to hear your thoughts, feedback, and support. Your continued support means everything to our family business, and we truly appreciate every person who comes by for a meal, shares a post, or recommends us to friends and family 🙏

Please let us know in the comments what you think and whether Sunday-only trading during Winter would work for you.
