New Filter Release | Kenya Kiamugumo AA
We’re excited to welcome Kiamugumo AA from Kenya’s Kirinyaga region to our filter lineup. In the cup, you’ll find blackcurrant, baked plum and grapefruit supported by a juicy acidity and velvety mouthfeel. This one is definitely for the juicy fruit lovers.
Grown on the fertile volcanic slopes of Mount Kenya at 1,550 masl, this washed lot is produced by around 1,500 smallholder farmers who deliver ripe cherry to the Kiamugumo washing station. Here, Kenya’s distinctive washed process, including an extended soaking stage before drying on raised beds, helps create the remarkable sweetness and structure that Kenyan coffees are celebrated for.
Comprised of Batian, SL28, SL34 and Ruiru 11 varieties, this lot is graded AA, a classification reserved for Kenya’s largest and most dense beans. While size isn’t everything, these coffees are often prized for their intensity, complexity and expressive fruit character.
