Massive shoutout to our long-time mates at Blue Sky Bread in Roleystone

We've been working with Blue Sky Bread for years now, and it's partnerships like this that remind us why we love what we do. Tucked inside the historic Brackenridge Village, Blue Sky Bread started as a humble sourdough bakery and has grown into a full café and gourmet store, all without losing what makes them special. Slow fermented starters, real depth of flavour, and proudly pouring our Karvan Blend 3 & Pure Tea.

If you're out that way, go say hi. Grab a coffee, grab a loaf, support local.

Meet the artist behind our latest Karvan Art Cup.

We're proud to collaborate with local West Australian artist and art teacher Sharon D Clifford, whose beautiful artwork Crowd of Parsley transforms an everyday coffee cup into something a little more meaningful.

Thank you, Sharon, for sharing your creativity with our community. We hope every cup inspires people to slow down and notice the beauty in the everyday.

Brazil has always been part of our coffee story.

Alongside our year-round Brazil Special Selection, this month we're excited to feature not one but two Brazilian Single Origins. One roasted for espresso and one for filter.

So what makes Brazilian coffee so loved around the world?

Brazil is the world's largest producer of Arabica coffee and for decades has been known for its mastery of natural processing. Instead of removing the fruit immediately after harvest, the coffee cherries are dried whole under the sun, allowing the beans to absorb sugars and fruit characteristics from the surrounding pulp.

That's what gives Brazilian naturals their unmistakable profile: sweet, smooth, full-bodied coffees with flavours of chocolate, nuts and ripe fruit.

Whether you enjoy the richness of espresso or the clarity of a filter brew, this month's Brazilian lineup is a chance to experience just how diverse one origin can be.

Farmer of the Month: Gil & Edu Melo

Four generations deep in coffee, Gil's roots run from his grandfather's fields in Campos Altos to EspigĂŁo Farm in Cerrado Mineiro today.

Marte visited Gil & Edu on her last origin trip, walking the same rows that have shaped their whole life, and this month she's bringing their coffee home: Brazil Gil & Edu Melo.

7 singles. Every month. No shortcuts.

In the specialty coffee world, it's rarer than you'd think. It's not something you'll find at many roasteries out there, and it's something we're genuinely proud to do every month.

Before Marte even gets to the roaster, she's spent weeks tasting, sourcing, and selecting. Connecting with farmers and researching harvests from across the globe to find the very best of what's in season.

She carefully curates each monthly lineup to cover different origins, processes, and varieties. Natural, Washed, Wet-hulled, Anaerobic, Espresso, Filter, and always one WOW coffee. So there's something new to discover every single month.

It's rare. It's a lot of work. And we do it because we genuinely believes you deserve to experience the best of what each season has to offer.

July is here, and Marte has selected seven exceptional single origins, each one chosen because right now is when they taste their absolute best.

Creamy chocolate that lingers. Stone fruit that bursts. Jams and caramels that feel made for the season.

Seven coffees. Four countries. One perfect time to drink them.

Brazilian Coffee Hits Different in Season.

Right now, our Karvan Brazil Special Selection is running extra fruity and juicy, with a creamy body that's lovely on its own and just as satisfying with milk.

Now's the time to try it.

Sensing Shifts in Every Sip featuring the work of Nicole Steenhof.

Her paintings of the sea do not just show the ocean, they feel like it. Light, movement and memory come together in a way that pulls you in before you think.

“Each person’s connection to the sea is different.”

Originally created as a commission to carry the Indian Ocean overseas, Sensing Shifts captures the ocean’s restless, grounding presence. Always moving, always holding stories.

Now on your cup, it becomes a small moment to pause and drift with every sip.

Nicole is currently preparing for Holdfast, opening June 2026 at Moores Building Art Space, Fremantle. Take a moment to explore Nicole’s world and support her journey as she continues to share the sea through her paintings.

We're excited to shine a spotlight on one of our café partners, Last Crumb Cake Co — a Bassendean favourite that's earned a loyal following across Perth for good reason.

Founded by husband-and-wife team Grant and Lyndsay, Last Crumb Cake Co is the result of years of passion, hard work, and a shared commitment to quality. After operating a mobile coffee business since 2009, Grant took the leap into a permanent café space, while Lyndsay brought her love of exceptional food and attention to detail into every corner of the business.

Our wholesale manager Andrew has known Grant for many years, so partnering together felt like a natural progression when the opportunity arose to serve our coffee alongside their incredible food offering.

From beautifully crafted celebration cakes and hearty gourmet pies to freshly baked cinnamon scrolls and inventive pastries, everything at Last Crumb is made with genuine care. We're thrilled that Karvan coffee is now part of the experience.

If you haven't visited yet, you'll find them at 77 West Road, Bassendean. Drop in, meet the team, and treat yourself. It's the kind of place you'll want to return to again and again.
