⚠️ BACK IN BLACK AIR GUITAR CHAMPIONSHIPS — CANCELLED ⚠️

Bad news, shredders. Tomorrow night’s Back in Black Air Guitar Championships at Phat Brew Club West Perth has been cancelled.

Turns out the universe just wasn’t ready for that much invisible talent in one room.

Huge apologies to everyone who was ready to windmill, knee-slide and absolutely butcher imaginary AC/DC solos with reckless abandon. We know a few of you have been stretching your hamstrings and practising your stage dives in the mirror all week.

The good news? This may not be goodbye forever.

There’s every chance the Back in Black Air Guitar Championships makes a stunning comeback next year — bigger, louder and somehow even more unnecessary.

Until then:

👉 And never stop soloing in places you absolutely shouldn’t

Just a reminder that both Phat West Perth & Phat Hillarys will be closed from 6pm tonight (kitchens from 5pm) while we bring the whole team together for a well-earned staff get together.

Opening Hillarys while keeping the good times rolling at West Perth has been a massive team effort, so tonight we’re celebrating the legends behind it all with a few corks popped and a few deserved pints sunk 🍺

🚨 PHAT PSA 🚨

Both our Phat West Perth & Phat Hillarys venues will be closing next Monday 11th May from 6pm (kitchens from 5pm) as we bring the crews from both venues together for a well-earned staff get together 🍻

Opening a brand new venue while keeping the good times rolling at West Perth has been one hell of a ride, and the team has absolutely busted their backsides to make it happen. So for one night only, we’re hitting pause, popping a few corks, sinking a few deserved pints and celebrating the legends behind the scenes who’ve made it all possible.

Congratulations to these three incredible humans… it was so hot the kitchen staff had to act like bandits robbing the place to escape the heat of the 5 Round Big Phat Hot Wing Challenge 5.0!!! Massive thanks to everyone for the huge turnout - there were flavour packed but the last few rounds did pack a massive punch!!!

Phat Brew Club isn’t just about great beer — it’s about building a Culture of Good Times and working with Legends like Troy, our Head Chef. With our new Hillarys venue now open, we’re looking for a sharp, reliable Chef de Partie to step in and own their section.

The Role

• Hours: Casual, 30+ per week (consistent hours available)
• Location: Phat Brew Club – Hillarys Boardwalk
• Position: Chef de Partie

This isn’t a “fill a shift” job. You’re here to run your section properly — clean, fast, consistent — and deliver food that holds up next to 20 taps of award-winning beer.

What You’ll Do

• Run your section with control, speed, and consistency
• Prep, cook and plate to a high standard — every service
• Keep the kitchen tight: clean, organised, efficient
• Support service, specials, and high-volume trade
• Contribute to a team that actually pulls its weight

What We’re Looking For

• Proven Chef de Partie or strong Commis ready to step up
• Solid fundamentals — you know how to handle pressure and volume
• Reliable — you show up and deliver
• Good communicator who works clean and fast
• Must have weekend and evening availability (non-negotiable)
