Sustaining our world is about inclusivity and not exclusivity, be it in the natural world or our human one. We need animals and birds and bees and reptiles and insects and worms and everything else that make up the ecosystem to play their part. Taking one species away will mean their contribution to the eco system is lost and you get an increase in the species they fed on or a decrease in the species that fed on them. This will bring an imbalance to the natural order. Nature has a way of balancing itself out without human intervention. So if we want to grown plants sustainably, we should try to replicate the way nature does it, that is - we should include the animals that contribute to the land and not exclude it. Nature is about moderation, not exclusion, our human world would be better if we apply the similar principles.

Intensively farmed meat and dairy are a blight, but so are fields of soya and maize. There is another way, says the farmer Isabella Tree

Worrying signs for our food quality, but good news for Western Australian provenance. We need to ensure we keep our honey pure when it carries a WA label. We need a proper process to maintain our honey is pure, and a WA label. We need to protect our 100% pure status.

Just weeks after the honey industry was put under the spotlight over using adulterated imported honey, the pressure is now on authorities to start testing local honey after nearly one in five samples was revealed to be not pure.
