G’day gang,
Remember a while ago I wrote a post that said stay tuned for how you can help put Ringarooma back on the map? Then I went awol due to busyness, sick staff & kids! Well I’m back and here is how you can help us & our town get back on the map!
Why is this important?
Firstly, You’d be surprised how many people don’t know we exist - people in surrounding towns, tourists driving around the North East and people in the city! They have no bloody clue!!
Secondly, because these days it's hard owning a small business anywhere but especially in a town out in the sticks!
Thirdly, It's a lot of effort keeping small community things going when almost every single one of us is a part of one if not two!
Ringarooma and our valley as a whole has so much potential not just for the businesses that are here but for our community, we have a pool, a school, a school show, a history room, a hub @ the rec ground, Legerwood Memorial Trees, A Lions Club - all running by the people who live here, all volunteers. Not only do the towns folk volunteer for things in our town but they also help out in Scottsdale, Branxholm and other places too I am sure!
We’re such a bloody helpful bunch and sometimes we’ve gotta put our pride aside and go well we need help too!
So I’m standing up and taking things into my own hands, I see how hard my town and community work to keep the businesses we have and all the extra town things going - we all could use more support and awareness for all the great things we are doing.
I understand I sound nuts, most people think I am - why would you care so much about a town? Why pick a place in the middle of nowhere to set up shop?
BECAUSE - I am nuts! And I have a lot of passion for standing up for the underdog, I have respect for the people that work their little butts off, I know how bloody hard it is and still these people make the same choice I do everyday to keep showing up, to keep trying! It takes one person to start change but a whole community to make a difference - so I will back these fellow nut jobs in making our town a better place for the legends that live here, for future generations and everyone that is lucky enough to be a part of this beautiful community!
So I made a thing - some of you would have seen it around but if you haven’t here it is!
Now ways to help -
- If you or know someone who has a shop or accommodation that you would be happy to display our flyer in HIT ME UP! I will drop them off or I can post them out!
- If you aren’t in the area but care to help - follow the pages below, share, tell mates or any random person you know that's coming to TAS!
- If you're in Tassie - come out and spend the day - come meet us in person see what all this noise is about and fall in love with the valley yourself!
- If you are interested in volunteering or learning more about our committees get in contact with any of the groups below for information!
