NAIDOC Week is a time to celebrate, recognise and learn from the rich cultures, histories and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

This week, our team had the privilege of taking part in a traditional basket weaving workshop hosted by Malima, a family-run Aboriginal business from the La Perouse community that shares culture through traditional weaving and storytelling.

A big thank you to Cody, for sharing your knowledge and culture with us.

Congratulations on our Schools Matter three finalist who are in the
running to win a share of $10,000 in grants to help with their project initiatives:

* Bald Face Public School "Community Cultural Cookbook Project' bringing together recipes and stories from the many families and cultures in the community.

* Georges River College Hurstville Campus "Georges River Guardians" to celebrate the natural and cultural heritage of the community with a mural of native flora and fauna and Aboriginal connections to Country.

* Woniora Road School - "Waste Management Project" increasing environmental awareness and practices.

To vote, participating patrons dining in Mike's Grill at Ramsgate RSL from Saturday 4th July- Sunday 19th July to receive a token for each $20 spent. Place your vote in the school of choice at the voting station.

Due to the recent wet weather and forecast, we’ve made the difficult decision to postpone our Family Fun Day originally scheduled for Sunday 31st May.

We’re incredibly disappointed as it’s one of our favourite events of the year, but the good news is we’ve locked in a new date for what we hope will be a beautiful sunny Spring day — Sunday 20th September! 🌼

Thank you for your understanding and we can’t wait to celebrate with you then!

**National Reconciliation Week – 27 May–3 June 2026**

A time to reflect on our shared histories, cultures and achievements, while continuing to learn, listen and take action towards a more united future.

This year’s National Reconciliation Week theme, All In, is a reminder that reconciliation is everyone’s responsibility — and that meaningful change happens when we all step forward together.

We’re proud to show our support by adapting and displaying the official 2026 artwork by renowned Gumbaynggirr/Bundjalung artist Otis Hope Carey across Societie Group, respectfully incorporating our branding while honouring the meaning and spirit of the original piece.
