❤️ FAMILY HOLIDAY ❤️

It’s hard to believe that SHOKIYA has already been open for five months.

Over these past five months, we’ve met so many wonderful people and received so much kindness and support from our community. Whether you‘ve visited us once or become one of our regular customers, we are truly grateful for every visit.

As a small family-run restaurant, we’ve spent most of our time in the kitchen since opening. While we love what we do, we‘ve realised that we haven’t had much time to spend with our children.

So we‘ve decided to take a short family break and create some special family memories together.

📅 SHOKIYA will be closed from 22 June to 25 June.

We will reopen at 4:00 PM on 26 June.

Thank you for supporting our small family business. Your support truly means the world to us, and we appreciate your understanding while we take a few days to enjoy some much-needed family time.

We look forward to welcoming you back soon.

We’ve been working on a new sushi roll for quite a while, trying different ideas again and again, and finally decided to add it to our menu.

The outside is wrapped with thick, rich salmon and lightly aburi-seared to bring out that beautiful smoky flavour.Inside, we added avocado and sweet chili mayo, then topped it with cheese and spicy mayo before giving it one final aburi finish.

After thinking about the name for a long time, we finally decided to call it:

“Fuji Aburi”

Rich, smoky, creamy, and full of flavour without being too heavy.If you love aburi-style sushi, we’d really love for you to give this one a try 🍣🔥

Tonight, one of our team members unfortunately became unwell and couldn’t make it to work.At the same time, some of our staff are spending the evening with their mums for Mother’s Day weekend ❤️

So tonight may be a little busier than usual, and there could be slightly longer waiting times for food and service.We truly appreciate your patience and understanding.

Tonight was suddenly a bit busy.

In one way, we’re really happy to finally see the restaurant getting busy, but at the same time we also worry that the waiting time might affect everyone’s dining experience.

We also noticed that table 13 ordered two Yakisoba, but they were barely touched. I was in the kitchen cooking non-stop and didn’t notice in time, and I truly feel very sorry about that.

If you happen to see this post, we would really appreciate hearing your thoughts. Was the sauce not to your taste? Yakisoba is actually quite personal — some people really love it, while others may not be used to the flavour.

If it was your first time trying Japanese fried noodles, we would usually recommend Yaki Udon, as the flavour is often easier to enjoy.

Small apology to our customer Storm D 🙇‍♂️

If you placed an Uber order tonight under the name Storm D, we realized after packing your order that we forgot to include your Coke. We felt really sorry when we noticed it.

We tried to find your contact details through Uber so we could let you know, but unfortunately we couldn’t reach you. By the time we finished our busy dinner service, it was no longer possible to contact you through the platform.

If you happen to see this post, please kindly remind us next time you order or visit our store, and we will happily give you your Coke.

We are truly sorry that your dinner tonight was missing the Coke. Thank you for your understanding, and we hope to make it right for you next time. 🙇‍♂️
