The Lakemba Club Official page of The Lakemba Club - the people's club.

In 2008, Lakemba Services Memorial Club amalgamated with the Canterbury Group and in late 2013, was reborn as The Lakemba Club after a $2.2 million, six-month renovation. The new makeover included adding a new central bar and café, a new restaurant and fresh new décor, updated furniture and modern audio visual equipment. Today The Lakemba Club operates as a hub for the greater Lakemba community and is fantastic place for families and friends to meet up and have a meal together.

Standing proudly at the front of The Lakemba Club, this bronze soldier statue serves as a lasting tribute to the men and women who have served, and continue to serve Australia.

First unveiled in 1973, the memorial is a reminder of the dedication, sacrifice and courage shown by generations of service personnel in defence of our nation.

The Lakemba Club is proud to support our local community by offering fee-free room hire to eligible local groups, hobby groups and largely not-for-profit community clubs.

Whether you're hosting regular meetings, planning activities or bringing like-minded people together, our Lakemba Meeting Room provides a welcoming space for your group to connect and grow.

Connect with fellow current and former service personnel, stay informed on veteran matters, participate in commemorative services including ANZAC Day, Remembrance Day and Victory in the Pacific Day, and enjoy social events throughout the year with members and their families.

The Lakemba RSL Sub-Branch is currently seeking new Service Members. By joining, you'll help preserve the future of the Sub-Branch and continue supporting veterans within our local community.

♟️ A historic night at The Lakemba Club! ♟️

Earlier this week, we were proud to host a special simultaneous chess exhibition featuring 12-year-old chess prodigy Reyaansh Chakrabarty.

Already recognised as one of Australia's brightest young chess talents, Reyaansh made Australian chess history as the youngest player ever to conduct a simultaneous chess exhibition in the country. Taking on 14 opponents at once, he delivered an impressive performance, claiming victory in 12 matches.

Congratulations to Reyaansh on this incredible achievement and thank you to everyone who attended and helped make the evening a success.
