I love this spleen curry made just like Mum makes with her homemade curry powder. Takes hours to cook it properly and get it nice and soft.

Since I moved here and was no longer the chief birthday planner of kids' birthdays, and also not the "go-to" dessert person in my family, I don't often get to make the celebratory cake...so I really enjoyed making this one for my Dad's birthday.

One of his favourite cakes, Black Forest Gateau!

And as no kids were present, I was able to make the authentic recipe that included a dash of Kirsch liqueur!

I think the birthday boy was happy! And yes...he did cut it with a cleaver...because "That's not a knife; this is a knife!"😂😂😂
