What a brilliant weekend.

The Devonport Soccer Cup was fantastic. It was great to see so many young teams out there giving it everything, having fun, and enjoying the game. Events like this are what community sport is all about.

There's something pretty special about working from the van at events like these. Watching the sun rise while setting up and seeing it disappear again at the end of a busy day reminds me why I love this side of the business so much. The cart is great and being out of the weather definitely has its advantages, but the van really comes into its own at events like this.

Tomorrow we're straight back into it for the Big Freeze. If you're around, head down to the Ulverstone Waterslide from 11am and support this amazing event raising funds and awareness for FightMND.

We'll be there keeping the coffees flowing. Hope to see you there. ☕❄️

🍛👃 EVERY MONTH, ALIF THAI CUISINE ARRIVES WITH A PLAN.

That plan?
To completely derail yours.
😌
You arrive at Banksia Makers Market thinking:
"I'm just going to have a quick look around."
A little browsing.
A little shopping.
Maybe lunch later.
And then...
Alif Thai Cuisine Tasmania starts cooking.

Suddenly the air changes.
The smell drifts across the market.
Heads turn.
Conversations pause.
People begin walking suspiciously quickly in one particular direction.
Nobody says anything.
Nobody needs to.
Everyone knows.
Alif Thai Cuisine has arrived.
🔥🍛

Let's be honest.
You don't find Alif Thai Cuisine.
Alif Thai Cuisine finds you.
Usually through your nose.
👃✨

🌶️ THE RED CURRY
Bold.
Rich.
Packed with enough flavour to make your tastebuds sit up and pay attention.
🌿 THE GREEN CURRY
Fresh, fragrant and utterly irresistible.
The kind of curry that makes people immediately start planning their next bite.
☀️ THE YELLOW CURRY
Warm.
Comforting.
A hug in food form.
Only with considerably more flavour.
🍗 THE BUTTER CHICKEN
Creamy.
Saucy.
Dangerously easy to fall in love with.
Many have tried to resist.
The butter chicken remains undefeated.
🥢 THE THAI SPRING ROLLS
Golden little parcels of crunch and happiness.
Perfect for sharing.
In theory.
🍚 THE FRIED CHICKEN RICE
Crispy.
Savoury.
Spectacular.
The sort of meal that leaves absolutely no room for regret.
😌✨

MARKET OBSERVATIONS:
Every time Alif Thai Cuisine attends Banksia, the same thing happens.
People wander over "just to have a look."
People join the queue.
People leave carrying food.
People take one bite.
People immediately start telling everyone else how good it is.
It's a cycle as old as time.
Or at least as old as Alif Thai Cuisine's market appearances.
🍛💥

⚠️ POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS:
• Following food smells without conscious thought
• Developing strong opinions about curry
• Telling complete strangers what you're eating
• Looking longingly at other menu items while already holding lunch
• Planning your next visit before you've finished your current meal
Because some market stalls sell products.
They sell the reason you skipped breakfast.
😌🍛

📍 Find Alif Thai Cuisine Tasmania at:
📍 Banksia Makers Market
📍 Banksia Centre, Port Sorell
🗓 Saturday, June 13
⏰ 9:30am – 1:30pm

Come for the market.
Leave wondering if it's socially acceptable to have curry for breakfast tomorrow.
(We probably support that decision.) 🔥🍛✨

It's been a fun week hanging out in the shop, catching up with everyone and watching the coffee cart continue to grow. But now it's time to jump back in the van.

The next three days are shaping up to be massive.

Saturday and Sunday you'll find Small Brew parked in Spreyton at the Devonport Soccer Cup, right next to Field 12. If you're spending the weekend cheering from the sidelines, we'll be there keeping the coffees flowing.

Then on Monday we'll be in Ulverstone for the Big Freeze Fight MND event, which is always a fantastic community day and a great cause to support.

Three big days, plenty of coffee, and hopefully a bit of sunshine thrown in as well.

See you out there. ☕🚐

This morning's pour over specials are on and they're a great example of how different two coffees can be.

First up is a beautifully smooth washed coffee from Bolivia. This sweet, light Caturra variety offers notes of candied orange, coffee blossom, and hazelnut. It's delicate, balanced, and incredibly easy to drink.

Alongside it, we have something a little more adventurous from Burundi. This Bourbon variety has undergone a yeast-inoculated washed process, creating a flavour-packed cup with notes of grape, black tea, and a floral finish.

The Burundi brings plenty of intensity and complexity, while the Bolivia offers a softer, more subtle experience. Together, they make for a great side-by-side tasting.

Both coffees are available as pour overs in the shop today until 3:30pm at 33 Reibey Street. ☕
