Thursday is the day you should listen to your doctor or trainer advice… “you need a cheat day” 😂

So don’t feel guilty today. Grab a donut, a fresh slice, maybe even an extra pie on the side. Winter is cold enough already 😅

Some of our tradies reckon Thursday is the hardest day of the week… too far from Monday, not close enough to Friday. That’s why a little treat hits different today.

Hot coffee, warm bakery smells, fresh donuts coming out, slices in the cabinet waiting for someone to say “stuff it, why not” 😂

Every winter morning, we notice the same thing…

Tradies walking in rubbing their hands together asking for their usual.
Parents grabbing something warm before school drop-off.
Locals chasing comfort food before starting the day.

And today?
Our Portuguese Burgers and Honey Chicken Fried Rice have been flying out the door since early this morning. 🔥

There’s just something about warm fried rice on a cold morning…
Or biting into a hot Portuguese burger while the weather outside says “stay in bed.” 😅

Winter might be cold, but good comfort food makes it a little easier.

Beautiful Tuesday morning in Warrnambool ☀️
How was everyone’s long weekend break?

For us at Gallo, yesterday still felt like a full-speed Monday 😅
The coffee machine barely stopped, the pie warmer kept working overtime, and plenty of tradies were still out there on the tools while the rest of us tried to enjoy a sleep in. Big respect to the crews that keep going no matter the weather or public holiday 💪

A few customers grabbed breakfast on the run, others stocked up the family with hot pies, sausage rolls and cold packs before heading back to work. Cold mornings somehow make bakery food taste even better.

This week we thought we’d keep the special simple, warm and easy for the lunchbox or smoko break:

Public holidays always feel a little different in Warrnambool.

Some people are sleeping in.
Some are heading off for a drive along the coast.
And plenty of tradies are still up early, looking for a hot coffee and something proper to eat before the day starts.

This morning already, we’ve had familiar faces walk through the door — the usual coffee orders, the usual pies, the usual “same again mate.”

That’s one thing we love about public holidays.
Life slows down a little… but the small routines still matter.

So if you’re out and about today, we’re OPEN until 3PM for the King’s Birthday 👑

Hot pies, schnitzel burgers, honey chicken and rice, coffee, slices… all ready to go.

After all that rain this week, the sun finally come out 🌤️
Perfect Friday to get out the house, get a few jobs done and grab some lunch while you’re at it.

Since early this morning, the tradies rush has been non-stop. Boots at the door, coffees flying out, hot pies straight from the oven and schnitzel burgers keeping everyone warm n full before the next job site.

Funny how a little bit of sunshine changes the mood around town. Everyone seems happier when the weather clears up 😄

Winter mornings at Gallo… Alex’ s favourite spot is right next to the grill and fryer.
Warm kitchen, hot burgers on the plate, and the smell of fresh food rolling through the bakery while the cold wind sits outside.

Every morning we prep burgers, hot pies and rolls ready for our tradie customers before a long day on the tools. Nothing fancy… just good hot food made fresh to warm people up. 🔥🍔

Some grab a quick bacon egg roll, some go for a big chicken burger, and some leave with a box of pies for smoko later on.

Cold weather feels a little easier when your hands are near the grill 😄

Cold morning again… but lucky we’re sitting in a pretty good spot 😄
Warm bakery, hot food, fresh pies coming out, coffee running all morning.

Tradies coming in early to warm the hands before the next job.
Seniors stopping by for a chat, a hot lunch and somewhere cosy out of the cold wind.

And today’s honey chicken is doing the job nicely 👌
Juicy chicken, our own light crispy batter, covered in that thick sweet honey sauce. Proper comfort food on a cold day.

Grab a hot pie, sausage roll or honey chicken pack and warm yourself up before heading back out there.

Rain outside. Cold wind. Wet roads. 🌧️❄️

One of the best feelings in winter?
Opening the fridge and seeing a few Gallo pies or pasties ready to go 🥧🔥

No extra trip out.
No standing in the cold thinking about dinner.
Just straight into the oven, warm up the house, and dinner is sorted 😌

A lot of our customers are stocking up a few packs lately “just in case” for those lazy winter nights.
Honestly… not a bad idea this time of year 👌

Sunday rain is settling in… cold mornings, wet roads, and one of those evenings where nobody feels like cooking ☔🥶
