I’m sure by now most of you are aware that we have unfortunately had to close our doors. It has been an extremely challenging two and a half years and the continued work from home policy many company’s still employ, and the shortage of staff have impacted greatly on our ability to continue trading, that said we had no intention of giving up and had in fact previously been in discussions with our landlords to renovate and expand CREMA to establish a business which would continue the institution many of you feel CREMA had become. Unfortunately our landlords the Uniting Church in Australia then made an error without any discussion or consideration for CREMA and decided to embark on a development proposal with neighbouring properties, this decision instantly rendered the financial value of CREMA as a business worthless and all though discussions had been taking place for over a year regarding how this error could be corrected the uniting Church in Australia unfortunately could not give me any assurances of Security beyond April 2023.
It was with sadness I had to make the decision to walk away from an $800,000 investment but due to the current climate and what had transpired and come to light there was really very little point continuing with no assurance from the Uniting Church that I would have any future or compensation.
The end was unfortunaly very sudden and the Uniting Church sadly chose to act in a very unprofessional, vindictive and most definitely unchristian way considering the situation was largely due to their mistake.
Finally, I would like to thank all of you who supported us for almost 8 years.
Kind Regards
Paul
