Sad gratitude post!!
Codys cafe Manor Lakes has closed permanently.
Chris and Kim CODY would like to thank each and every person who has supported our cafe over the past 9 years.
It was on the 1st April 2011 we signed our lease and opened on April 23rd.. Easter Saturday.
Since opening we have made some amazing friends, met amazing people and have had the most wonderful staff whom most are still in our lives past and present.
They have given us everything they had to offer and we are most grateful for this.
Cody's has had an array of people who cover every walk of life and we are proud to have employed so many people over the past 9 years.
We can not thank you all enough and love you all.. we are still here to support you in whatever way we can and we are sorry things happened the way they have.
We have had some amazing adventures over the time ranging from our fundraising events for Girls night in, Support events for little Alex Miller, continued fundraising and support for Wyndham Vale fire brigade, relay for life and even sponsored the local footy club for a couple of years.
We have held a monthly open mic night for our local Dynamic Performance group for the past 2 years which has seen and heard some phenomenal voices including our very own chef Darren and waitresses Karthy and Ebony..
We've had wonderful events for Australia day, Easter, Seniors morning melodies, balloon twisting from Mr Earle, face painting from the magical Lynne and the angelic voice of Katrina singing for Friday night family nights..
We have held engagements, weddings, birthdays and wakes but our all time favourite times are when we find out... quite often first.. that families are expecting new little miracles of life.. we get to experience the excitement and joy of first hearing about the pregnancy and then we got to meet these beatiful new little human beings that also became our new loves.. quite often spoiling the growing children with baby chinos, cookies, jelly, Freddos and chippies..
We also featured on Gold FM Bridget and
Lemo's gender warfare and on Studio 10s television program with the Chew crew, were we became mates and did many challenges with the top 5 competitive eaters in the country.
Both of our babies grew up at Cody's and Kim, Siarne, Sheree, Kiandra, Mitchell, my dad Brett, and even Kim's mum Christine worked for us ### a true family restaurant
I guess what we're reminiscent about here is the love and care we not only have but also received from so many.
And this wasn't just us but the staff as well..
We have some VERY SPECIAL thank you to go out to people who saved Cody's a few years ago when we were really financially struggling..
Alex and Lester.. we Thank you from the bottom of our hearts xx
both of our parents have also financially, emotionally and physically supported us from day 1 and it was awesome to be able to have them also as guests frequently.
We also want to thank our wider community..
Without you we could not have made this last 9 years as memorable as it has been..
We love you all, we Thank you for your regular visits and we will miss seeing your smiling faces every day.
With this current climate and uncertainty we have had to make a heart breaking decision to end our adventure at Manor Lakes central shopping centre.
We also apologize ending like this but financially we just couldn't go on.
We love you all look forward to seeing everyone outside of the cafe
Please stay safe, healthy and happy..
Love always and ending this chapter..
The extended Cody family..
