Crab is rich in protein. Crab has the same amount of protein as meat. But because meat contains fat, it is harmful for heart patients. But there is no fat in the crab. Crab meat does not have connective tissue, so it can be easily digested by children or old people of any age.
Crab contains omega-3-fatty acids
Usually the omega-3-fatty acids we get from vegetables and oils are shorter in chain length. In the body, these short chains of omega-3-fatty acids join together to form long chains. This long chain basically keeps our heart and brain healthy and functional. The omega-3-fatty acids found in crab are long-chain. As a result, crab can provide an immediate supply of omega-3-fatty acids. Not only the heart and brain, research has shown that omega-3-fatty acids can reduce aggressive behavior in personality.
Crab contains selenium
All marine fish contain selenium, but crabs contain selenium in higher amounts. Selenium boosts our immune system and regulates thyroid hormones. Crab contains 3 times more selenium than cod liver oil and 12 times more selenium than beef.
Riboflavin in crabs
Since most vitamins are water soluble, they are not stored in the body. These needs have to be met through food. Crab meat is rich in riboflavin. Riboflavin protects the skin, eyes and nerves. Riboflavin also plays a special role in steroid production and red blood cell formation in our body. Crab meat can be a good source of extra riboflavin for those who exercise excessively.
Crabs are rich in copper and phosphorus
Crab meat contains 56 times more copper and phosphorus than beef and chicken. The second most essential mineral after calcium is phosphorus. Phosphorus is the main mineral in bones and teeth. And copper plays a role in the metabolism, storage and absorption of iron in the body.
