Aerial views of The Turtle Islands, located off the southwest coast of Sierra Leone. The isolated and serene eight-island archipelago is home to several of the country’s fishing communities who are fighting to protect their fishing habitats from the effects of .

The waters are also home to five species of sea turtles, hence the islands’ name.
