What did the fisherman say to the magician? Pick a Cod, any Cod! Enough of my soFISHticated jokes, we have some really lovely seafood available on our site this period including Lingcod.

Lingcod is considered by many to be the tastiest of the cod family. Our Lingcod are wild-caught by Lax Kw’alaams Fisherman, just off the coast of British Columbia.

The uncooked meat is translucent with a hint of marine blue in its depths, but once cooked the flesh is pure white. It’s slightly sweet flavour and natural oils make it lobster-like, distinguished by its large meaty flakes and lack of fine bones. This makes Lingcod a star ingredient in salads and complex seafood dishes, such as casseroles and soups, because it holds its shape well after cooking and won’t compete with other flavours. Its firm texture makes perfect fillet strips for your favourite deep-fried fish and chip recipe, but it’s hard to beat hot or cold as a stand-alone portion, simply steam-cooked with a dash of salt and squeeze of lemon.

How about this Saturday healthy dinner?
Today we oven roasted our T’aaq-wiihak Troll Wild Sockeye full size fillet and paired with butter crispy potatoes combined with fresh mushrooms and onions cream sauce. That was absolutely delicious!!
